Natalie is Going to Camp and YOU can Help!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 (Natalie's favorite Bible verse)

Last year Natalie went on a work project with our church for 5th graders at Camp Tejas in Giddings, Texas. She worked really hard, learned a lot, spent time with the Lord and with friends, and even got to play a little bit. She really wanted to go to Camp Tejas in the summer, but it just didn't work out. This year, she is signed up for camp with our church, Community Bible Church and she is very excited! We are excited that she has chosen to attend church camp where she will grow in her faith as she has been doing the past few years through Bible study and church.

One of the requirements we had for her was to help raise some of the money to pay for camp. We thought of different ways she could work to earn money. One of the ideas that stood out was for her to sell her crafts to earn money for camp. She's also helping me with some of my crafts to sell on this blog.

If you'd like to help Natalie go to camp by purchasing any of the items, just leave a comment for us, or e-mail me at cheflag@satx.rr.com . The prices listed include shipping. I'll try to list a price without shipping for those who live close to us and can either pick up the item/s or we can deliver them. We will accept Paypal or check, but please wait for me to contact you to be sure the item is available and for instructions on how to send the payment.

We're starting with some of her earrings. Be sure to check back often as we add more of her crafts, some purses and even a quilt we are making together. If you like blues, teals and browns together, you will love this!

Thank you for helping Natalie make this camping trip a reality!

Quilt Auction

 Current High Bid: $75

After much anticipation, we present to you the QUILT!

This quilt was designed by Natalie. She picked out the fabric, arranged the pieces, and quilted each square. I sewed the quilted squares together. On the front, the fabric is cotton. On the back, it's cotton flannel.

The batting (the fluffy stuff in the middle of the fabric) is cotton, also. This quilt has been pre-washed to start the "rag" effect. The nature of cotton is to shrink a tad and get softer with each wash. The flannel is a bit "scraggly" looking after a long spin in the dryer, but is super soft and cuddly.

As you can tell, Natalie is all cuddly in it! Of course, as she said, something about flip-flops and being snuggled in a quilt don't go together! Maybe 99 degree weather isn't snuggle in a quilt weather, but wouldn't this make a fun picnic blanket, too? Even if it's a picnic in the living room! The quilt measures 45.5" wide by 52".

Natalie is auctioning this quilt to help raise her portion of money for summer camp. We are going to do this similar to other online auctions. The starting price for the quilt is $25 with free shipping (or local delivery). If you would like to bid on the quilt, please e-mail me directly at cheflag@satx.rr.com   As new bids arrive, I will post them on THIS blog post. We will keep this open until next Saturday night (June 4th). I will announce the winner on Sunday, June 5th. I'll mail it out that week. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment here or e-mail me.

PLEASE share this with anyone who might be interested or might know someone who is interested! Thank you!

Quilt Quick Pic & Clay

So sorry to have been MIA. Between colds & tummy issues, things have been rather interesting, to say the least! Now back to FUN STUFF!

We finished the quilt last week, but haven't had a chance to take good pictures yet. I did snap some quick shots tonight so I wanted to post those. The picture above is the front side of the quilt, the "raggy" side.
The picture below is the back side. It's made of flannel and is a bit nubby right now from the washing & drying process, but oh, so cozy.

Hopefully tomorrow we can get some GOOD pictures of the whole thing. I have been thinking we will sell this one auction style. I'll put all the details out when I get it together & post the info.
Finally, a few more things Natalie is working on. She has some orders in the works but decided to try some new things after checking out several library books on polymer clay. The flowery things are some she made in a "log" then sliced into pieces. (read: we have a lot of pink & purple beads! LOL!) If you click the pic you can enlarge it & see the Hershey's candy & the snow cone. Any guesses at what she's making to go with the chocolate?

Come back soon and we will get those pictures of the quilt up! Thanks!

Items Natalie is making

Our dear Natalie has been sick this week. First, her asthma kicked into high gear and she was coughing like a lung might fly out at any moment. Then, she developed a sinus infection. She's been on so many different steroid type meds (oral prednisone, albuterol in the nebulizer, and albuterol in her inhaler between nebulizer treatments) that sleep has been scarce. Of course, coughing all night doesn't help that.

In the meantime, she's been working on getting some more items ready to sell. We shipped off her first order yesterday! Woo-hoo! I don't have pictures, but I can tell you she is making roses for earrings and necklaces, tiny dice on earrings (no, she doesn't gamble, but loves board games!), pop tarts---oh, my word, just darling, sushi on a plate with chopsticks, and a breakfast plate! My favorite so far, though, is one she just looked at in silver at the store (a charm) and came home to create. Hers is WAY cuter. It's 2 Peas in a Pod! Great for a best friend set of necklaces. Seriously cute stuff. I hope to get pics up tomorrow.

We have the quilt cut out, but have not assembled it yet. Hopefully next week will find us feeling healthier & able to do that.

Natalie is more than happy to take orders for her clay jewelry. She also does paper quilling, which makes fun little embellishments for cards. Let us know if there is something specific you'd like to order for her to make.

Have a blessed weekend!

Cute Bag for sale!

This is a bag that I made recently, but Natalie picked out the fabrics to go in it. The fabric is Lovely by Moda. It is completely reversible and has a button on each side so you can close your bag either way you wear it. The strap is just long enough to carry on your shoulder, but short enough to use as a handbag if you prefer.

The bag without shipping is $25. Shipping will depend on how you want it sent, but typically if it will fit in a flat rate envelope, that is the best way to go at $4.95.

Like the style, but want different colors? Just let us know!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Natalie takes orders!

Natalie does take special orders! She can whip up most any miniature food, roses, and I'm sure other things! She hasn't figured out how to make a squirrel, but is working on it for a friend. We picked up some small chain today so she can finish some necklaces. She can use silver pins and wires for the jewelry.

We'll be listing some more of her items soon, so be sure to check back.
